We are back, I think.

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

Hello everyone - we are back blogging! I see it has been a long time since the last post, allot has happened since then. It will take a few posts to get things up to date, right now we are just finishing a big job of taking 2 miles of fence down. It will give us enough fence to finish fencing the homestead, we will post about a very simple and cheap way to roll up fence wire.

House building update

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

It is cold out, most morning it is 30 degrees below freezing and that is Celsius, I have been trying to work in this weather but it is slow. I did get some more scaffling up and a few sheets of wall broad up I will soon have the gable wall on the west end finished. Today it is a bit warmer so I will head out into the forest and cut and haul in fire wood, plan to make a post on fire wood making.

Some very happy news

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

Every since I came to Christ I have been wanting to learn how to preach and teach in Christ’s name and to that end I have taken my family and myself to different fellowships with may different families that are in Christ. We love to fellowship and learn more about the kingdom of our Lord and one of the things I have been looking for is mature Christians that can teach others to lead. However we didn’t find any that had that blessing in them, so I turned to God to help we and I prayed and waited and looked.

Now here is I believe the hand of God at work, I had been praying and asking God to help me and on my birthday I went into town to get the mail and our regular town trip stuff. I picked up the mail and saw a letter in it from an outfit down in the USA asking for money for some kind of Christian training institute. I didn’t think to much about it as some how we seem to have gotten on the mailing list for this kind of thing. But once we got home I had another look at it and saw there was a website so I decided to check it out. What I found made me very excited so my wife had a look to see what see thought. We had found the Christian Leaders Institute and they train Christians to be godly leaders to carry out Christ’s work. I thought about it as I went over their different courses and read the founders book on home discipleship. I learned that he really tries to encourages the father to take the headship of his home by first  having a strong personal walk with Christ then lead his family in Christ and reach out and be a strong Christian leader in his community.

I was a very happy man to find other Christians that wanted to equip leaders to go out and work for Christ. I have often thought that Paul was a very well trained leader before Jesus Christ called him to do the work he did. I really wanted to get some leadership training before I step out into the the bigger body of Christ and the world. Now I have been given a full scholarship to take training, what a wonderful birthday present God has given me. I will try to keep up to date posts of the course as I go along, but keeping praying God takes care of his children all I had to do was put my heart with his.

It kind of tastes like a chocolate orange, very good with cream.

Let them draw

Friday, November 14th, 2008

I think one of the best things we can do with children in the way of helping them to find their creative sides is to make sure they have lots of stuff to be creative with. I know my wife thinks it is funny, that everytime I’m out and I see paper on sell I buy allot of it or pencils that pretty much goes for any kind of craft supplies. I like to keep allot of it on hand and I let the girls  pretty much have free hand at it with a few limits some days they can get pretty creative. One thing I like to see is them using chalk on paper I have saved some very pretty pictures, those are for when I’m old and toothless I can sit on the porch and dream back to my early days. So let them draw and keep lots of paper and chalk on hand and let them use it freely. Having little ones can be allot of fun if you let it, secret here is to just get in there with them, for we are all kids at heart,. God Bless you and your families.

Another one of Gods little helpers

Sunday, November 2nd, 2008

Here is my newest little helper, most of the time you will find her helping herself to a cuddle with her mommy, she will soon be running around with her big sisters.

We also have new kittens on te homestead, looks like Sarah has picked out which one she wants to keep. We are now back home from the city for the winter and we are starting to work on the house again. Our first job will be  to dig a water well and then put a porch on the side of the house.
